Just 20 minutes south from Lyon, Vienne is at present a small town, but with an important historical past.
We will tell you the secrets of this Roman city, which became an important town in the Middle-ages as illustrated by the majestic cathedral.
Vienne represents nowadays one of the most important archaeological heritages in France. During a stroll in the lovely old town, you will see several Roman remains such as the Temple of Augustus and Livia built in the 1st century BC.
We will then go to the other side of the Rhône River to discover the Northern Côtes du Rhône. In the Côte-Rôtie vineyard, you will learn and understand how this area can produce a wine with such an aromatic richness. You will immediately be seduced by the magnificent view over the Rhône Valley and the steep hillsides of these vineyards.
We will then go to a local winery where you will delight yourself with the spicy and red fruit aromas but especially the elegance of the Côte-Rôtie.
