Description

This basalt table at the top of the Col de Curebourse is the result of a relief inversion. Metal hooks were fixed to the rock face, with a rope attached to each hook. The condemned man, after a last look at this sublime panorama, was precipitated into the void.
From Vic sur Cère, head towards St Clément. At the Col de Curebourse, there's a parking lot on the right just after the hotel. The trailhead is located in the hotel parking lot (40 min. return walk).
You can also reach us on foot from Vic-sur-Cère: from Pont de Cayrol, take the path to join the D54
(Route des Montagnes), cross it and continue along the road until you reach Route de l'Abreuvoir. Join the Départementale 154 (Route de Salvaroque) and follow it before taking a path on the left. Continue as far as Col de Curebourse, where you'll find the path to Rocher des Pendus. Return to Vic sur Cère by the same route.
