Description

Located in the Auvergne region, around sixty kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand, Dhagpo Kundreul Ling is a Buddhist monastic and lay community. The large temple, a unique building, was constructed in the 1990s. It is open to all, with guided or self-guided tours available. While its architecture and rich ornamentation make it a work of art in its own right, it is first and foremost a place for sharing Buddhist teachings and a space dedicated to meditative practice.
Below the temple, the park, which is open to the public, is home to a bamboo grove, inviting visitors to stroll along its paths. Oriental in inspiration, it is a space conducive to contemplation. Dhagpo Kundreul Ling welcomes people with a wide range of aspirations. The centre is equally suited to those wishing to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the great temple, or to those wishing to discover meditation or learn about Buddhist philosophy. Before or after your visit, the community welcomes you to its tea room to enjoy homemade preparations. There is also a boutique bookshop in the centre. Here you'll find a wide selection of books and handicrafts, as well as resources for learning about Buddhism and meditation.

The large temple is a lively place where practices and teachings take place, so make sure it's open before you come to our site.
