Description
The Défilé is back in the streets of central Lyon to celebrate amateur practices and inter-cultural dialogue. As Europe’s biggest dance parade, it is a unique tool for mediation, for meeting people, and for social, cultural, generational and geographical mixing across the metro area and the entire region. Over an entire year, it involves thousands of people (artists, amateurs, choreographers, technicians, costume makers, set builders, etc.).
The procession will be made up of 8 groups and an opening ‘free mobilisation’ group, initiated as part of the France-Brazil Year, under the direction of choreographer Diego Dantas, director of the Rio de Janeiro Choreographic Centre. The group will be made up of participants from the Lyon and Vienne areas, in partnership with the Jazz à Vienne festival (registration details to follow).
For the Défilé finale on Place Bellecour, we will host a show by the choreographer.
Opening
Sunday 7 September 2025.
