4 major difficulties:
- the 14km Les Saisies climb from the Mottets bridge in the Gorges de l'Arly. The gradient is already sustained at an average of 8% up to Crest-Voland, with one section at 9.5%. After a flat section at the village of Crest-Voland, the route continues for 7km on moderate gradients.
- the climb from Beaufort to Cormet de Roselend, with over 1,200m of gradient over more than 30km. This year, the route will take a new variant from Beaufort (via Chozeaux) to reach Arêches.
- You'll then have to work up a sweat on the Col du Pré, with its 15 hairpin bends and 7.5km climb, which will increase in difficulty from 8 to 9.5%. From the Roselend dam onwards, Le Cormet will be a mere formality.
- We mustn't let our guard down on the return journey via the south side of the Col des Saisies, taking another option (Les Villes-Hauteluce) for 18km and 750m ascent
The organisation reserves the right to modify the routes according to the weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
