The Drôme is a department with many faces. A bike trip in the Drôme des collines allows you to discover the most unknown of them. This bucolic territory is characterized by its landscapes with round reliefs and plateaus that offer splendid viewpoints, delimited by the majestic walls of the Vercors, the Isère and the Rhône Valley. Far from the crowds, you will evolve in a rural atmosphere and you will discover villages and hamlets perched with small Roman churches. You will also find heritage treasures such as the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval in Hauterives, the historical heart of Romans sur Isère or the surprising village of Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye.It is in Tain-l’Hermitage and the neighboring villages, that some of the most prestigious wines of the Côtes du Rhône are produced on terraced vineyards.

Day 1: Welcome to Drôme des Collines
We will meet you at the Valence TGV station at a predetermined time before transferring you to your hotel in Romans-sur-isère. In the afternoon we will take the opportunity to introduce you to the program, adjust your bike and explore the town.

Day 2: Romans - Saint Antoine l'Abbaye
We go up the Isère Valley for a gentle warm-up, before reaching the village of Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye in the hollow of green hills, classified among the most beautiful villages of France and a must-see of the local heritage. It remains, as in the past, a formidable center of attraction for people curious about their history. The way back to Romans offers a view of the Rhône valley in the distance and the Vercors summits. We let ourselves be carried by the hills with their bucolic landscapes.

Day 3: Tain-l'Hermitage - Vallée du Rhône
Steep roads will lead you today to the hills of the Hermitage vineyards and its emblematic chapel which proudly stands facing the Ardèche and above the Rhône Valley. This unique place is the symbol of this vineyard which spreads out in terraces on the surrounding hillsides. But first, fruit trees, lavender fields and bucolic landscapes accompany you throughout the day.

Day 4: Hauterives - Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval
Today Cape north towards Hauterives, known for the “Ideal Palace of the Facteur Cheval”. Built by one man, from 1879 to 1912, independently of any artistic movement, the Ideal Palace is unique in the world.

Day 5: Fin de séjour
It’s the end of this bike tour in Drôme des Collines with Veymont Travel. After breakfast your guide will take you to Valence TGV station.
