Since the Middle Ages, the fine wines of Château de Pizay have seduced the most demanding Beaujolais connoisseurs. Bred in the aristocracy of selected crus, its noble descendants, vinified with the greatest respect for tradition, are tasted the world over. A thousand years of history... The configuration of the site evokes that of a Roman villa, a probable hypothesis given the proximity of an ancient road. Pizay was first mentioned in 1030 in the charters of the Cluny Abbey. In 1070, the lords of Pizay erected a surrounding wall. In the 14th century, they built a robust keep, and in the 18th century, the addition of a formal garden added to the charm and charm of the estate. Château de Pizay is one of the most important Beaujolais estates, with 80 hectares of vines in several appellations.
