With over 191.2 million night stays1 and a global turnover of 21 billion2 euros, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is the 2nd largest tourist region in France (after Paris-Île de France) and the 1st region in the world for winter sports and outdoor activities.
With its iconic cities, sites and destinations such as Lyon, Annecy, Chamonix, Vichy, Evian, Courchevel, Les 3 Vallées, Auvergne, Ardèche, the Alps, Beaujolais and La Vallée de la Gastronomie-France, the region benefits from tourist activity in all four seasons.
Tourism is a major business sector, generating an average of more than 220,500 direct employments in the region and producing more than 1.5 billion euros of annual investments to better welcome our visitors.

Our missions
A common strategy and mutual actions with regional tourism professionals to make Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes one of the top 5 European tourism regions within 5 years.
Through the implementation of the regional tourism development strategy, the Regional Tourism Agency, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme covers by its missions the entire production line of the tourism offer: from observation and training to promotion/communication (including BtoC and the press), including BtoB and sales stimulation. In this way, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme, promotes its flagship destinations and themes at a regional, national and international level.
Annually, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme meets with more than 1,000 professionals (journalists, travel agents, distributors, OTAs or airline staff) and mobilises more than 500 regional tourism professionals during the actions implemented in the targeted tourism markets.
Our scopes of action
Working closely with regional tourism stakeholders, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme teams undertake promotional actions and ensure their coordination with the general public (BtoC), travel operators (BtoB) and the media & influencers.
With a presence in more than 20 markets, from Europe to Asia and the Americas, our actions are agilely organised to meet the needs of distributors, intermediaries, OTAs, tour operators and media.

The Regional Tourism Agency is your ideal contact to share topics, find out what’s new, work on a particular angle or evaluate the results of studies, analyses and performances, while putting you in touch with the specialists and stakeholders in the field. The agency has several press packs, a photo library, a video library and especially a qualified team with special knowledge of the subjects.
Are you a distributor, tour operator, airline/carrier or OTA (online sales agency)?
The Regional Tourism Agency also helps facilitate your activities. By organising workshops, educational tours and training for sales agents, while ensuring targeted contacts with service providers, DMOs (promotional organisations), DMCs (incoming agencies) and accommodation providers meeting your expectations.
