Description
Every year since 1974, the Château has hosted exhibitions in partnership with the Galerie Christiane Vallé in Clermont-Ferrand.
Built in the 15th century on a rocky spur more than 30 meters high, the Château's environment was altered by the construction of the Bort-les-Orgues hydroelectric dam in 1952. The valley it once overlooked was filled with water, and the château is now situated on a peninsula offering an exceptional, bucolic setting. Cinema: The château and its 6 emblematic towers played host to the cast and crew of the 1960 film "Le Capitan" (starring Bourvil and Jean Marais). It was also the setting for the entertainment show "Les traîtres saison 2" presented by Eric Antoine and broadcast on M6 in 2023. The château, park and chapel have been listed as historic monuments since 1990.
