Description

As a state-certified mountain leader, translator, historian and geology enthusiast, I will take you through the innumerable dimensions of mountain hiking: time (from rocks and landforms hundreds of thousands of years old, to human landmarks between prehistory and today), the interplay of fauna and flora, the musical rhythm of walking which summons the harmony of the legs, the heart, the lungs and – hopefully – the brain…

Weekly schedule for this summer 2024:

Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 21:30 to 23:30 — La nuit des temps. A night tour of an incredibly rich rock-carving site near the village of Aussois. Night is the best time to view these prehistoric drawings, some of which are amazing works of art.

Wednesdays, 10:00 to 18:00 — Murmures de pierres. A hike around Aussois between nature and culture, landscape and heritage. Highlights along the way include the new interpretation centre Espace des Gravures rupestres and the Parc archéologique des Lozes.

Sundays, 8:30 to 17:00 — Le balcon aux roches gravées. A great big climb to the most outstanding monument of rock art in the valley: the Pierre aux Pieds. Home to marmots and chamois, these heights offer breathtaking views on the peaks and glaciers.

… And any number of other hikes as might suit your preferences and availabilities! Feel free to call or (preferably) email me and we’ll discuss what can be done.
