On a granite headland 1080 metres above sea level, La Chaise-Dieu abbey invites visitors of all ages to discover the thousand-year history of a spectacular landmark in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
La Chaise-Dieu abbey’s scenography immerses the visitor in a millenium of history. Its 14 Flemish tapestries, a national treasure, are exhibited in unique conditions of lighting and proximity, within a dedicated architectural setting.
The abbey is open to the public with an audioguide, the recommended visit time is 2 hours. Guided tours are also available, to explore the abbey in greater depth.
To make the most of the village, its shops, art galleries and restaurants, the abbey entrance ticket is valid for the whole day.
